I have killed monsters in PacMan.
But I have never a killed a monster in real life.
Not because there are no monsters.
There are no guns. Not in my life.

Getting sick and tired of the ever-recurring "Games cause violence"-arguments?
People kill people. Society kills people. Guns kill people.
But games certainly don't.

I've not used flickr after the "great restricted pictures" debacle.
But for this cause I needed to upload one.

So viele, dass ich aufgehört habe zu zählen.
Monster? Monster? Ob sie Monster waren?
Die Gesichter... die Gesichter kann ich nicht vergessen...
die Augen und die Emotionen, bevor ich schiesse...
Die Augen... immer, bevor ich schiesse achte ich auf die Augen.
Sie sagen mir, wann ich abdrücken soll.
Ja, es sind sehr viele.
Manchmal denke ich mir: „Es ist genug!“ und dann...
nach einigen Tagen... fange ich wieder an zu schiessen.
Und DAS IST MEIN LEBEN! Es ist real. So real, dass es weh tut.
Manchmal weine ich.
Es sind die Augen und die Geschichten dahinter.
Ich schiesse... und weine innerlich.
Einige sind schon längst tod, wissen es aber noch nicht...
oder wollen es nicht wissen.
Und dann komme ich und mache es schnell, weil ich es nicht länger ertrage.
Kurz und schmerzlos!
Manchmal sterbe ich mit ihnen.
Ich sterbe tausend Tode.
Stehe dann auf und mache weiter. So, als ob ich nie da gewesen bin.
Manchmal sind sie mir egal! Dann schiesse ich einfach los.
Ja, ich schiesse!
Ich schiesse Photos mit meiner Kamera.
Ich schiesse Photos von Menschen.
Ich lache und weine mit ihnen.
Ob Sie Monster sind? ...nun... einige mit Sicherheit!
Denn... es gibt sie!
Es gibt Monster unter uns!
Ich nehme Sie ins Visier und schiesse.
Schiesse Photos.
Photos, die wie Geschosse ihre Ziele erreichen.
Erschiesse sie nicht.
Nicht weil es keine Monster gibt.
Nein, erschiesse sie nicht, weil es keine Waffen gibt!
Nicht in meinem Leben!

I have destroyed entire fleets in Eve Online.
But I have never destroyed a fleet in real life.
Not because there are no fleets.
There are no 425mm railguns. Not in my life.
